The Clos de Montmeix is located in the heart of Meursault village and is surrounded by parcels that are classified as Appellation Meursault Villages. However it does not itself profit from this Appellation as it is bounded by the river “des Clous”.
The soil is a clay limestone mix and the subsoil is rocky limestone. This parcel, planted in 2002 and extremely promising, is 18.9a in area and yields some 1,500 bottles. As with our Villages and Premiers Crus parcels the soil is ploughed and partially grassed. The wine-making and maturing processes are identical to those for our Villages and Premiers Crus wines.
This wine makes a perfect aperitif and is a refined companion for fish dishes and foie gras.
It should be drunk within 2 to 5 years after bottling.
Wine should be a sophisticated drink, rich but always refreshing.
